Parking will be in the Purple Lot
We are excited to announce a special VIP Veteran Air Show program on Friday, July 21 at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IFRA). The program is free for all veterans, plus one (1) guest (guest must be 18 years or older).
Gates open at 11 a.m., and the program will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport. The National Guard 116th will provide the Color Guard, Idaho Falls City Councilwoman Michelle Ziel-Dingman will sing the National Anthem, and the Idaho Falls Fire Department Pipes & Drums will entertain guests. Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper will provide remarks.
The presentation will be followed by a very special dress rehearsal showing of the U.S. Navy Blue Angel’s precision flying team, alongside other world-class aerial performers, from noon to 4:00 p.m.
Beverages will be provided by IE Productions. Food will be available for purchase.
The parking lot for the event is located along the east side of Skyline Drive, just south of the main airport entrance. The lot is a short distance from the air show entrance gate. Restrooms and a large shade tent will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Last year, the Department of Defense selected Idaho Falls as a partner city with 7,000 other communities in the United States to help honor the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Idaho Falls will host a series of six events over the next three years. Two commemorative events were held in 2016. The VIP Air Show Program is the second event scheduled for 2017. The first recognition event was the showing of Bravo! Common Men, Uncommon Valor.

Admission to the main Air Show event, on either Saturday or Sunday (July 22-23), is FREE for active military and active reserve only. *Please present identification at the gate.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force F-35 Heritage Flight will headline the 2017 Extreme Blue Thunder Air Show. This year’s main event will also feature static displays, vendors and merchandise.
